Principality is located on Cote d’Azur on the spur of the Alps. The terrain rises from the coast to the mountain range and the first line which is only a few hundred meters from the coast – although already on the French side – amounts to more than 1000m above the sea level. As the terrain rapidly rises, the seabed rapidly drops, allowing ships with deeper draft to anchor.
